Dr. Ernest L. Easley became the Senior Pastor of Roswell Street Baptist Church in February of 2002.  Before coming to Roswell Street Baptist Church, Dr. Easley served the First Baptist Church of Odessa, Texas.  A sixth generation Texan, Dr. Easley attended Baylor University (1976-1979), Dallas Baptist University (1979-1980 - Bachelor of Science) in Waco, TX, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1980-1983 - Master of Divinity) in Ft. Worth, TX,  and Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, FL (1988-1990 - Doctor of Ministry).

 

A family man, Dr. Easley and his wife Julie are the proud parents of three grown children - Jordan, Jonah and Jessica - and six grandchildren.  Active with RSBC's Christian Life College and Music Ministry, wife Julie is a regular soloist and praise team member in our Blended Services.  Daughter Jessica and husband Matt reside in Cobb County and are active members of the Roswell Street Baptist Church family.  They have two sons, Keegan and Kayson.  Son Jonah and wife Kathy reside in east Asia where they own a coffee business and teach school.  They have a son, Evan, and are expecting a daughter to arrive in August.  Son Jordan and wife Audra reside in Houston, Texas, where he serves as a lead minister in one of the largest student ministries in the nation.  Their children are Jailee and Asher.

 

 

Devoted to personal evangelism, Dr. Easley's heartbeat is to continue God's calling on Roswell Street Baptist Church to Connect People with God.  He encourages all believers to be active in sharing their faith.  Under Dr. Easley's leadership, the Roswell Street Baptist Church's ministry plan continues to expand to meet the needs of a diverse Cobb County culture through expressions of worship, discipleship, evangelism, care, and missions.  Since he came as senior pastor, over 1,000 people have been baptized into our fellowship.  Thousands of others have come to faith in Christ through numerous mission efforts of our people in global mission work.

 

As senior pastor of Roswell Street Baptist Church, Dr. Easley is firmly committed to preaching God's Word.  He is an effective communicator of God’s Word through exegetical (verse by verse explanation) preaching and he challenges God’s people to zealously share Christ with others day by day.  He brought the TEAM philosophy to RSBC.  Together in Purpose. Expanding our Perspective.  Accepting our Place.  Maximizing our Potential.  The TEAM philosophy forms a bedrock of values that helps to guide decisions and direction.

 

 During Dr. Easley's tenure, over $9 million

 dollars have been contributed in total missions

 offerings, projects, and programming in our

 Kingdom work across the streets, across the

 states and across the seas.  Received annually

 during the month of December under Dr.

 Ernest Easley’s 10 years of leadership, the

 Roswell Street Baptist Church family has

 contributed in excess of $2.75 million to the

 World Mission Offering, a Lottie Moon

 Offering received for international mission

 work.  Roswell Street Baptist Church

 continues to be a mission-minded church with

 a rich history of sacrificial giving for the

 furthering of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
